NIALL:personally, you thought having a cupcake store open until midnight was just off ridiculous but at this point in time after going through two weeks of post break-up heartbreak, a cupcake at eleven thirty-two sounded just damn fabulous. you'd already paid for your cupcake and stepped aside to wait for it to be packaged as a familiar blonde stepped into the store, giving you a polite nod before walking up to the counter. you squinted at him for a moment, trying to place his face, but gave up almost instantly as you found yourself getting distracted by his order. two of every flavour the store had. wow. the cashier looked a little overwhelmed as she went about trying to pack a large cardboard tray with the blonde's order, ignoring yours to do so. "you having a party or something, mate?" you ask, making conversation because it was apparent it would take some time until you could get your cupcake and leave. he turns to you with a confused expression before giving you a little smile. "naw, just how much i eat," he tells you and you find yourself unable to keep from laughing. "can't say i blame you, these things are heaven in a little paper tray," you say and he nods enthusiastically. "here you are, nia- err, mr horan, i mean, ah, sir," the cashier splutters, holding out the tray as niall grins at her and pays. finally it clicks and you realise who he is. "oh yeah, you're that kid in that band! thought you looked familiar," you murmur and he suddenly looks uncomfortable like he doesn't know how you're going to react. you laugh, holding up your hands to try and calm him. "relax, i just want my cupcake, you're safe." he looks almost relieved until a look comes across his face. "so, maybe i got a little too many cupcakes for my own appetite. i could use some help eating them all, it would be a shame to let them go to waste," he says slowly and you grin. "is this a date?" you tease, and he ducks his head, before looking up with a shy smile. "because if it is, then yes. but only because you got the red velvet cupcakes and i can't get enough of those bad boys." just when you thought his grin couldn't get any wider, it does, and the two of you spend an entire night in the parking lot, swapping your favourite flavours and talking until it was light again.
LOUIS:"you've got to be joking," you moan as the airport intercom has just announced that there would be a two hour delay on your flight due to engine maintenance. "you've got to admit, you'd rather wait the two hours than be in mid-air and have them realise the engines aren't working," a voice tells you, and you turn to see a man grinning at you. he was cute and dressed nice, even with all the stripes he was sporting, so you weren't opposed to talking to him despite the circumstances. "i'm louis, by the way," he offers, giving you a charming smile as he sticks out his hand. "i'm [y/n]. i take it you're meant to be on this flight too?" he nods, humming happily as if he didn't really care about the delay. "and you're not bothered having to wait another two hours?" you ask, curious as to why he was so happy. he shakes his head, still smiling. "course not, i was hoping for it! i never got a chance to try out that arcade round the corner. it's like someone in the universe really wanted me to play skee ball!" he tells you excitedly, making you laugh. "oh yes, i'm sure the universe stopped what it was doing to ensure that you got a chance to get a high score on an arcade game,” you answer sarcastically as louis grinned. "well, you never know! it could be my true calling in life!" he was still sitting beside you, and if anything, closer than before and you could feel your face flush at this. "then what are you waiting for? your true calling may just be round that corner!" you encourage, hoping he can't see the colour in our face as he grins and reaches out to grab your hand. "well yeah, but everything in that arcade needs two players, so come on!" and just like that, he took you and he stole you and he had you, simple, but effective.
LIAM:after having the worst possible day, now you were waiting at the bus stop for a bus that was fifteen minutes late when all you wanted to do was go home, put in a crappy movie, and maybe just cry for a bit. you're so deep in thought, you barely notice the man talking to you until he's suddenly right there in front of you. "sorry to be a bother, but do you happen to have a pen i could borrow?" he asks politely, giving you a shy smile as you glare at him. "what do you think i look like? a stationary store?" you hiss, before acknowledging his taken back expression and groaning. "oh god, i'm so sorry, i'm not usually this rude, it's just this day was... well it was just one of those days," you explain quickly, feeling awful for being so brash and he smiles, shaking his head. "no, no, don't apologise. it looks like you've had it rough. how about i take you for a coffee and maybe we could talk about it?" he offers, grinning a little and it suddenly hits you how attractive he is. "why would you want to listen to a girl you barely know whinge about her life?" you ask slowly, confused and his grin just gets wider. "because i hate seeing someone so gorgeous so sad. so how about it?" you consider him for a moment before nodding slightly. "yeah, yeah i'd like that. i can see about that pen, too," you murmur, about to rifle through your bag when he captures your hands in his, successfully stopping you. "i didn't need a pen, i just needed an excuse to start a conversation with you. now, that coffee?" he says, a mischievous grin on his face and you can only stare at him in shock before a real smile comes across your face. "cheeky, i like that. okay, lead the way!"
ZAYN:"don't you know smoking's bad for you?" you tell the man, more because you were in the mood to pick a fight than the fact it bothered you. the man shrugs. "you're not my mother," he tells you calmly, taking another drag and you try again. "second-hand smoking is one of the leading causes of death today," you say, and you're not entirely sure if it's true but it sounds reasonable and heck, why not. "nobody asked you to stand here, love, so you can shimmy that way if it bothers you," he answers, still not perplexed as to why you'd decided to throw all this at him. you feel a bit bad pestering him, he'd just been standing there minding his own business and you'd been in a crap mood, wanting someone else to suffer with you. you turn to walk away when you hear his voice after you. "if that was your attempt at hitting on me, it was awful. try again." his voice is full of amusement and for a half second it makes you smile. you turn slowly, trying to hide the smirk on your face. "who says i'm trying to hit on you?" you ask, and he grins slowly. "who says i'm not trying to hit on you?" he shoots back, causing you to stop, unsure of what just happened. "i - what?" he stubs out his cigarette, looking amused. "you're a beautiful girl and you're not afraid to speak your mind. i like that. maybe we could go get coffee or something?" he asks, before lowering his voice, challenging. "if you can handle it, that is." you narrow your eyes at him before giving him a smirk. "i don't know if you'll be able to handle me," you tell him confidently and he laughs. "well then, let's go find out, shall we?" you feel your face slack and you're still confused as to how this all happened. "wait, how did you just - did you just get me to agree on going on a date with you without realising?" you ask and he rolls his eyes. "i'll let you figure that one out. come on, i know a cool place down the road," he says airily, grabbing your hand and pulling you into the biggest adventure of your life.
HARRY:"oh, shit, i'm so sorry," he says hurriedly, after his body had collided with yours, causing you to go sprawling across the ground. he kneels beside you, hands out to help as you try and brush the dirt from your palms, before looking up at him. "next time, watch where you're going, styles," you tell him, no heat behind your words because you're not hurt and it was an accident, and you jump to your feet quickly. he follows behind a moment later. "so you know who i am then," he says, more a statement than anything you smile with a nod. "kinda hard not to, your face is everywhere," you say with a laugh and he grins a little at this. "yeah, sorry about that." you roll your eyes. "i didn't say it was a bad thing." you stop suddenly, realising how bad that must sound as he turns to you, a little more interested now. "oh god, no, i didn't mean it like that. oh, jeez, i'm going to leave you alone forever now, i'm so sorry," you tell him quickly, wanting to remove yourself from his heavy gaze as soon as possible. "hey, hey, it's alright," he tells you, taking a few steps to keep you from walking away. "so you know who i am, it's only fair i get to know your name," he continues and you let out a half-smile of relief at this. "it's [y/n], nice to meet you," you say formally, sticking out your hand which he takes with a grin before pulling it up to his lips and kissing the back of it softly. "a beautiful name for a beautiful girl," he whispers and you can't fight the blush. "they weren't kidding about you being a charmer," you tell him without thinking but he laughs, almost pleased with this response. "so if i were to ask you on a date, the answer wouldn't be a straight out no?" he asks cheekily and you pretend to think about it for a moment, "no, the answer wouldn't be a no. an 'i'll think about it', most definitely," you say and he gapes at you. "and why not a yes?" he asks, incredulous and it's your turn to give a cheeky smile. "because you're harry styles and can get any girl you want. but for this girl, you're going to have to work for it," you say, turning away with a little half grin as he licks his lips and shakes his head, his attention captured for good. "i will get you to say yes, [y/n]!" he calls out from behind you, a grin on his face as you turn to call over your shoulder, "catch me if you can, styles!"
